Nets Celtics Trade Blockbuster: Kevin Garnett Pitched By Jason Kidd & Deron Williams During Draft [Video]

The Nets Celtics trade is a blockbuster with the Celtics' Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce traded to the Nets for a pu pu platter of draft picks and expiring contracts.

The Celtics have decided to rebuild in epic fashion last night by trading their franchise players Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce to the Brooklyn Nets, but they still might have gotten the better deal.

The final pieces of the deal were finally brought to light this morning after news broke last night that Celtics general manager, Danny Ainge, was trading Boston's marquee players, Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett.

Chris Broussaard of ESPN.com, reported the final details this morning via Twitter:

The Celtics' Ainge dealt Pierce and Garnett along with disappointing free agent hire from last season, former Dallas Mavericks champion Jason "The Jet" Terry. In return for Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Jason Terry, the Celtics acquire the Brooklyn Nets' first round draft choices in 2014, 2016, 2018, as well as the expiring contract of Kris Humphries, Gerald Wallace, Kris Joseph, MarShon Brooks and Keith Bogans. Originally, Reggie Evans and Tornike Shengelia were headed to Brooklyn, but were scrapped for Brooks and Joseph, which is a good thing for Brooklyn. In all, those first round draft choices headed to Boston come with a lot of caveats: The 2014 pick will be the Hawks or Nets' selection, whichever is worse, because of the trade that brought Joe Johnson to Brooklyn. The 2016 and 2018 picks will be unprotected. The Celtics also have the ability to swap first-rounders with Brooklyn in 2017. Not only that, but Deron Williams and head coach Jason Kidd, reportedly talked to Kevin Garnett about the deal during last night's draft, according to Adrian Wojnarowski.

Garnett waiving his no-trade clause was the final hurdle for the deal getting done, and Brooklyn has guaranteed his full $12 million salary for the 2014/15 season, which was only guaranteed to $6 million before the deal

Deron Williams now has Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce to play forwards, as well as Joe Johnson in the backcourt, and Brook Lopez at center.

In 2008, sans Lopez, that's an all-star team. We'll see if it can bring Brooklyn to the promised land during the short window for most of those players.
