PS4 Vs. Xbox One Specs Comparison: Has Microsoft Killed Its Own Business? Time Warner Cable Brings Live Television To Xbox 360 App, No New Console Needed

Microsoft is preparing to announce a partnership with Time Warner Cable to release an application for the Xbox 360 that will allow users to watch live television without the need of purchasing the Xbox One, according to the Dallas Morning News.

"Time Warner Cable video subscribers who are Xbox Live Gold members will be able to watch up to 300 live TV channels through their Xbox 360," read a press release sent by both companies.

Microsoft's decision to feature its new application solidifies its statement that it won't abandon the Xbox 360 once the Xbox One is released, but is raising concerns that the old console's ability to stream live television will kill sales for the Xbox One, giving Sony's PS4 an advantage in the next-generation console market.

"We're very excited to partner with Microsoft in expanding the many ways our customers already connect to content they love through TWC TV. We look forward to introducing the app to the console and providing customers with this new viewing experience within the home," a representative for Time Warner Cable told the Dallas Morning News.

The next-generation console battle between Sony's PS4 and Microsoft's Xbox One continues to tilt in favor of the PS4 as different studies and analysis suggest Sony's console is more affordable and less complicated.

Game developer Activision told the VideoGamer.com that the Playstation 4 will have an advantage over Xbox One because of its cheaper price, raising concerns for Microsoft that the company will lose out on sales when both consoles are released.
