Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini: Smartphone Available For Pre-Order July 1, Expected Price Higher Than GS3 [VIDEO]

The slimmer version of Samsung Galaxy S4, the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini will be available for pre-order this Monday, July 1 in the U.K., reports Engadget.

According to the tech blog, British online retailer Phones4U said that it will start posting preorders for the popular device on Monday. Smaller phone retailers like Unlocked Mobiles and Handtec promised that they would start selling the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini this weekend.

The price for a Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini is pegged at £419.95 or a little more $600.00, which slightly more expensive than the Samsung Galaxy S3, currently priced at £400.00 or $608.52.

Engadget says that the price makes the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini a tough sell to customers. The new smartphone from the South Korean tech giant borrowed some design cues from the larger Galaxy S4.

The Mini, however, drops down to 1.7GHZ dual-core processor and has an underwhelming 4.3 inch qHD AMOLED display. Both the processor and display is of lower quality than what the Galaxy S3 offers.

CNET UK reported that, as in most cases with new tech products, the price could drop, and some retailers are offering a free Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 to encourage purchases. Phones4U is offering free shipping for the phones.

The newest Samsung smartphone runs on Android Jelly Bean and has an 8 megapixel camera.

Some retailers are selling the new smartphone sim-free. Carly Page of the Inquirer has also provided a video demo of the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini, filmed during Samsung’s Galaxy and Ativ premier event in London. Check it out here:
