Marshall Mathers, aka Eminem Talks About His Drug Addiction In New Documentary, Prescription Drug Abuse Almost Killed Him, He Says

In the new documentary How To Make Money Selling Drugs, Marshall Mathers, aka Eminem, opens up about his battle with drug addiction and how it almost killed him. .

Mathers said that he came dangerously close to dying from his pill addiction, according to Inquistr.

 "When I took my first Vicodin, it was like this feeling of 'Ahh,' said Mathers. "Like everything was not only mellow, but [I] didn't feel any pain. I don't know at what point exactly it started to be a problem. I just remember liking it more and more."

Emimen said that he hard time realizing that he had a problem and would turn away anyone who tried to help him.

"People would try to tell me that I had a problem and I would tell them to go the F**k away," he said. "I'd say 'They know nothing about my life. Are they out of their minds?' You're struggling with the argument of 'do I have a problem' and I honestly thought that I could control it."

The singer wasn't able to control himself, however, and nearly met his death due to an overdose.

"Had I got to the hospital about two hours later, I would have died, the singer known as Eminem said. "My organs were shutting down. My liver, kidneys, everything ... They were gonna have to put me on dialysis. They didn't think I was gonna make it. My bottom was gonna be death."


Mathers has talked about his battle with drugs in the past. In 2010, he opened up about his pill addiction on the album Recovery. 

The new movie, which focuses on the United States' war on drugs, opens this Friday. In addition to the Mathers interview, the new documentary also includes interviews with celebrities like Woody Harrelson and Russell Simmons.
