Amanda Bynes is an easy target lately. Too easy a target, according to the iconic singer, Cher, who recently opened up on how she put an end to all the bad blood between her and troubled starlet Amanda Bynes.

After Cher sent the “Amanda Show” star an apology via the social networking site, she talked with E! News about why she called off the mini-feud.

Cher told Alicia Quarles "I never understood the thing about not saying you're sorry because it's so easy…it doesn't take any time and it just dissolves all the bad feelings. It just lets it go, and we can't hold on to that kind of stuff. It makes you sick."

The tweet war began when a fan asked Cher if she was upset that Bynes had called her "ugly and a flop." Cher responded "Who's that?"

Bynes took to Twitter to proclaim "This is my twitter. I say whatever I want. Thanks!"

Cher tweeted her apology, which read, "you got That One Right! Sorry about shade, Sweet-Heart, it was unintentional...Promise."

Cher said she’d rather be a mentor for young people than argue with them over Twitter. She told E! News, "It's a rough time in history for kids. Sex didn't kill you when I was young and people weren't trying to blow up buildings. I feel a lot of compassion for these young kids that are growing up that don't really understand exactly what's going on. It's really rough. That's why I do a lot of tweeting…I feel kind of like a mother. It's something that gives them a little insight into things and it doesn't make them think that all grownups are the enemy."

Cher isn’t the only celebrity that the 27-year-old “Easy A” star has called “ugly.” Bynes also passed judgment on Miley Cyrus and Drake. The Twitterverse has been ripe with speculations that Bynes might have “multiple personalities” or some other kind of mental health issues. They have also wondered whether if she was on drugs.

Bynes denied the drug charges adamantly, saying, “For those asking, I’m voicing my opinion. I’ve been asked if I do drugs, I don’t do drugs for the last time!”
