Lil Snupe Memorial Service Was Held On Saturday: Hundreds Attended, Including Meek Mill

The Lil Snupe memorial service was held Saturday in Louisiana at Jonesboro-Hodge High School.

Hundreds attended the funeral and the Lil Snupe memorial service after the 18-year-old was shot and killed on June 20 in his hometown of Winnfield, Louisiana.

Attending the Lil Snupe memorial service included friends, family and Meek Mill. Snupe signed on to Mill's new record label, Dream Chaser Records at the end of 2012.

"I'm never one to talk (at funerals)," Mill said at the memorial service Saturday. "I saw something in him. His demo tape spoke to me. I saw myself in him."

Lil Snupe's real name is Addarren Ross. His father, Charlie Brown wrote a letter for the services since he was unable to attend because he is currently in prison.

"He came from nothing," Brown said in the letter that was read during the service. "He taught the young to never make excuses. When the doors open for me, the world will forever hear Lil' Snupe!"

Lil Snupe was making waves in the hip-hop community with his free-styling skills. He was considered part of the future of that genre.

Sean Combs, also known as Diddy, took to Twitter to share his grievances with the loss of Lil Snupe.

"RIP @LilSnupe..prayers to his family..Some of the saddest news you ever hear...rise up and be leaders for the future. Lives depend on it..," Diddy tweeted.

After four days of avoiding the police, the alleged suspect who murdered Snupe had turned himself in on Tuesday.

Tony Holden, 36, was booked into the Winnfield city jail on charges of first-degree murder, armed robbery and illegal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon Tuesday, according to a news release from the Winnfield Police Department.
