Pokemon X And Y Release News: Super Training Feature Gets Leaked With Strategy Guide, Will It Help Alter EV's?

As Nintendo prepares for its October 12 release of Pokemon X and Pokemon Y for the 3DS, Amazon has quietly put up its listing for the official strategy guide with some revealing news on the game itself.

The official blurb has this to say about the guide.

Here's what you'll find inside:

• A complete walkthrough of all the Gym Badges and through the Hall of Fame!

• Detailed information on all the new game features, from Sky Battles and Horde Encounters to Super Training and Pokémon-Amie!

• A guide to where to find hidden items, TMs and HMs, and special Pokémon-with a location index!

• Hints on the best ways to use Roller Skates, ride Pokémon, and challenge Gym Leaders!

• A super effective Pokémon screen cleaner to keep your Nintendo 3DS system looking sharp!

• Helpful tips and tricks for getting the most out of the PSS and online play!

• An updated type matchup chart that includes the all-new Fairy type!

• Pullout map to guide you through the Kalos region!

Most updates, like the inclusion of HMs or Sky Battles, have either been confirmed or speculated, but what grabs the eye is the alleged "Super Training" feature that will be introduced once X and Y release.

For some time now, online forums and Pokemon fans have speculated that a new way to alter EVs (effort values, previously known as Stat Exp) would be introduced this generation, and Super Training seems to fit the bill.

Effort values are attributes which give bonuses to a Pokemon's stats and improve different depending which Pokemon they defeat.

In other words, in addition to the bonuses a Pokemon gets from leveling up, effort values stack on top of the level bonuses to further strengthen the Pokemon.

With each generation, various items or systems have been introduced for trainers to more meticulously build their team. In Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire, they were berries. Diamond and Gold, items such as the power weight, power bracer, and power band gave players the edge on specific stats.

This time around, perhaps Super Training is the newest way to train your Pokemon's stats, not unlike other monster games like Monster Rancher.

So, are you excited for new features like Super Training, Pokemon-Amie, and Horde Encounters?
