Mars Orbit Video: Incredible New ESA-Released Video Shows Hi-Def Circle Of Red Planet [WATCH]

An incredible new video reveals what it's like to orbit Mars. You can watch the video below. The video, released by the European Space Agency, was taken by stitching satellite images together.

The amazing ESA Mars video is a high-def look at what it would be like to orbit the Red Planet. No human has ever been able to orbit Mars...but the video, from the Express Satellite, comes close.

The video was created by the Mars Express Visual Monitoring Camera (VMC) at the European Space Agency. It's made of 600 high-def photographs stitched together.

The video zooms in and out on Mars as it spins on its axis, zooming around the Martian orbit.

The video is awe-inspiring, if slightly unnerving-for a moment, it seems as if we will crash straight into Mars...but we skim the surface and hurtle past. Volcanoes, the ice of the South Pole, and huge Martian rocks can be seen as we orbit Mars in the video.

The Express satellite was launched to Mars in 2003 by the ESA and began taking data while orbiting the planet in 2004. The main goal was to figure out whether there was any water on Mars.

The Express satellite has orbited Mars several times, and has enough fuel to last for another 13 years in space.
