Xbox One Release Date And Price: PS4 In Stores Before Xbox One? Microsoft Confirms November 2013 Release Date, Sony Rumored To Sell Console October 29

Microsoft confirmed that the new Xbox One release date in the United Kingdom will be November 2013, but Sony's Playstation 4 is rumored to be in stores by October 29.

Battlefield 4 for the Playstation 4 is shown with a release date of Oct. 29 on Amazon's website, prompting rumors that that PS4 could be released right before Halloween.

Over the weekend, the Playstation 4 release date for several games on Amazon's website was moved to mid-to-late November, which was the original time frame that most gamers expected the PS4 to be released, but Call of Duty: Ghosts for the next-generation console has been pushed up to a Nov. 5 release date and  Battlefield 4 even closer.

"Traditionally, game publishers and hardware manufacturers list the last day of a month as the item's release date so consumers have a general idea of when the game or console may release," writes the Daily Game.

"In Sony's case, if you search for any first-party PS4 games or hardware bundles, you'll see "December 31″ listed, which clearly keeps Sony from tipping their hand about the PS4 release date."

If Sony does decide to release the Playstation 4 on Oct. 29, the next-generation gaming console will have an advantage over Microsoft's Xbox One, which is expected to be released mid-to-late November.

So far, Sony's PS4 pre-order sales have topped Microsoft's Xbox One on Amazon.

"Sony has told retailers to expect 10 times more PS4s than anticipated for pre-orders, the supply chain gods may in fact be smiling on an earlier PS4 release date than anticipated," the Daily Game also writes.
