Pokemon X And Y 4th Of July Gameplay Trailer Reveals New Battle Music, Sky Battle, Horde Encounter, Pokemon-Amie, And 3DS Feature

With Pokemon X and Pokemon Y dropping October 12 worldwide for the 3DS, Nintendo has premiered a long-form trailer which, although does not give away any major spoilers, culminates everything we've learned so far into one celebratory video.

Enjoy the nearly 3-minute long trailer below:

A few things worth noting:

Yes, your ears do not trick you. That is a new battle music theme. According to previous reports, you can choose amongst a selection of music for battle, which means we'll probably get a few more musical clips in future reveals.

Pokemon X and Y trailers heavily feature previous generations, which we can only assume as a sign that one way they are dealing with backwards compatibility is to simply give you some of your old favorites, like Charizard, right away. But does this mean there will be fewer new Pokemon introduced for the Pokedex?

During the Pokemon-amie segment, Nintendo 3DS fans can see both screens being used as touchscreens. There may be a lot more to Pokemon-amie than simply point-and-click. Here's to hoping.

Written in Japanese is the note that Japanese pre-orders start on August 10. Not sure if this is true for the rest of the world, but it IS getting a simultaneous worldwide release, so...

And of course, there's the final reveal of the Pokemon 3DS XL. For fans looking to upgrade, look not further!

What do you think of the new trailer?
