Does Ashlee Simpson have a new boyfriend, Evan Ross, the son of legendary Motown singer Diana Ross? Ashlee Simpson and Evan Ross were spotted on two separate occasions in less than 24 hours in West Hollywood, and they were getting cozy.

Simpson, 28, and Ross, 24, first hung out Monday night at the Roosevelt Hotel. At around 1:30 a.m. Ross led the "Pieces of Me" singer out of the hotel's club Teddy's, holding her hand, while smoking a cigarette, ABC News reports.

Ashlee was wearing a billowing floral romper and Ross wore a floor-length black coat. The pair didn't seem to shy away from paparazzi, and walked confidently through.

An eyewitness told People magazine that Ashlee was having a blast and danced to Whitney Houston's  "I Wanna Dance With Somebody."

The next day, the pair was spotted in West Hollywood grabbing lunch, ABC News reports. Ross wore the same jeans from the night before, as well as a mustard-yellow scarf. Ashlee had changed into dark jeans, booties, a flowing white top, and a big floppy hat.

Despite these tell-tale signs of a romance brewing, a source told Us Weekly that Simpson and Ross are just friends.

"Evan and Ashlee have been friends for a really long time, probably 10 years," a source said. "They know each other from the club scene and have tons of mutual friends."

Simpson was married to Pete Wentz, 33, for three years until they divorced in 2011. They have one four-year-old son together, named Bronx. Later that year, she began dating "Boardwalk Empire" actor Vincent Piazza until their breakup late last year.

Ashlee is also a new aunt, after the birth of her sister Jessica's son, on Sunday.
