Shin Megami Tensei IV Limited Edition Box Set First Impressions [VIDEO]: Early Unboxing Shows Soundtrack, Strategy And Design Book

Shin Megami Tensei is finally returning after nine years with Shin Megami Tensei IV, and early impressions on the Atlus limited edition box set release is thumbs up all around.

Currently, the limited edition is up for pre-order at $49.99, a reasonable bargain given the contents.

As confirmed by MTV contributor Miguel Concepcion, the limited edition box set comes with a 176-page strategy and design book, as well as a music soundtrack for Shin Megami Tensei IV.

"You'd be smiling too if you got a head start in playing Shin Megami Tensei IV!" writes Concepscion while chronicling Sebastian Fisher's unboxing of the Atlus game.

The strategy book reportedly takes players through the first page of the game, but it also contains fusion charts, a weapon list, and maps of the game's dungeons.

Admit it, this is a bargain.

According to Gaming Illustrated, Shin Megami Tensei IV revolves around a school of samurai who hunt demons, and will hold many of the classic game mechanics from previous titles, like the law and chaos alignment.

And as far as future releases, Shin Megami Tensei IV character designer Masayuki Doi recently spoke with Siliconera regarding the inclusion of more female characters.

"I like female protagonists. It would be cool to have a female protagonist in the next SMT games," says Doi.

"However, there are traditionalists on the development team that see the series from the past to present and all of the protagonists have been male. To keep that tradition, there is feedback I've been hearing saying that if there is a new SMT title we should keep the tradition of having a male lead."
