There were no discussions of an iPhone 5s and iPhone 6 release at the concluded WWDC 2013. But rumors say that the iPhone 5s, which could also be called the iPhone Light, will be released on September 20.

According to Expert Reviews UK, Chinese manufacturer Foxconn is reported to be expanding its staff for mass production of the iPhone 5s. There has also been a leaked image of the said iPhone displayed on an assembly line.

“Our teams are hard at work at some amazing new hardware, software, and services that we can’t wait to introduce this fall and throughout 2014,” said Apple CEO Tim Cook in an earnings call.

That statement could be the only official hint from the company that the smartphone could arrive by fall of this year.

Expert Reviews said that you could pick a random date on any autumn month and it could well be the release date of the iPhone 5s.

Many speculate on previous differences of a new iOS release and an iPhone release. Observers say that it usually takes Apple 100 days to reveal the new smartphone following an announcement of a major iOS update. By applying the 100 day rule since when the iOS 7 was announced and Apple's history of releasing new hardware on Fridays, the September 20 date was pinpointed.

Expert Reviews said, however, that in 2011, the iOS 5 was announced June 6th and wasn’t actually released until October.

Rumors say that Apple will generally use the same design for the iPhone 5s, with this phone serving as an update of the iPhone 5.

Consumers looking forward to a major iPhone update may have to wait until the iPhone 6 is released, which analysts and speculators say will not arrive until 2014.
