Sodus Boat Crash: Drunk Webster Teen Charged After Crashing Vessel Into Breakwall Of Lake Ontario; One Passenger Ejected Into The Water

Sodus boat crash has led a Webster teen to face charges after crashing his vessel into a concrete break wall on Lake Ontario.

Tyler Ocwieja, 19 years old, was driving the vessel involved in the Sodus boat crash event that happened on the water of Sodus Bay. 11:30  pm of Wednesday, the Sodus boat crashed into a stone and  then into a solid breakwall on Lake Ontario. The US Coast Guard and firefighters immediately came.

Aside from Ocwieja, the three passengers involved in Sodus boat crash were Ocwieja are Liam Wheatley (18 y.o) from Penfield, Nicholas Pizicuto, 19 years old from Rochester, and Micheal Dodge (19) who is also from Webster.

Luckily, the Sodus boat crash did not give serious life-threatening injuries to the four teen passengers of the boat. According to a report from The Examiner, Wheatley was casted out of the boat on impact, thrown over the concrete wall and into the water but fortunately suffered only from ankle injury. The other two were just thrown around the rear of the boat during the crash. All of them were brought to the hospital for treatment and then got released.

The Sherriff's deputies from Wayne County filed several charges against Ocwieja for the Sodus boat crash. He was charged with boating while intoxicated; reckless operation of the water vessel; refusal to submit preliminary breath test; and operating at more than 5 miles per hour within a hundred feet of the shore. He was also charged with reckless endangerment, as reported by Henrietta Post.

Ocwieja, the Webster teen responsible for the Sodus boat crash was released but will return to answer  the charges in Sodus Town Court at a later date.
