Tom Hanks Is A Grandfather: Son Colin Has Second Daughter, Broadway Play ‘Lucky Guy’ Drawing To A Close

Tom Hanks is a grandfather again. Tom's son Colin welcomed his second daughter, Charlotte.

The 56-year-old actor is a grandfather for the second time. Colin, his 35-year-old son who starred in "Burning Love," gave birth to a little girl this week with his wife Samantha Bryant.

The couple announced the news on Tuesday, The Daily Mail reports.

"Ms. Charlotte Bryant Hanks has decided to join us. She's as happy and healthy as we are overjoyed and tired," Colin told People magazine.

The couple has another daughter, Olivia Jane, who is two years old and was born in 2011.

E! News reports that Colin and Samantha kept the pregnancy secret until they announced they were expecting another child in April, while attending the premiere of Tom Hanks' Broadway play "Lucky Guy." The couple met through mutual friends and married in 2010.

Colin has also had appearances on "NCIS," "Dexter," and "Mad Men." His most recent role was in Seth Rogen's "The Guilt Trip."

Grandpa Hanks is also a busy man. He is finishing up his Broadway debut in "Lucky Guy," in which he received a Tony nomination for Actor in a Leading Role in a Play. "Saving Mr. Banks" and "Captain Phillips" are two other Tom Hanks films that will be released soon.

Tom and his wife Rita are probably ecstatic about the newest arrival to the family. Tom told People magazine that he was very excited to be a grandfather, back when Olivia Jane was born.

"They cannot wait to just dote on this kid with every single fiber of their being," he said, according to The Daily Mail.

"My wife and I are more than happy to give them our baby and say, ''Here, watch her while we take a nap.'"

Rita expressed pure joy after her son announced their second child was on the way.

"[We're] so excited. Very beyond," she said, Us Weekly reports.
