Racism Bumps Big Brother Episode Rating: CBS Airs Racist, Homophobic Slurs By Cast Members Aaryn Gries, GinaMarie Zimmerman

After Big Brother 2013 contestants Aaryn Gries and GinaMarie Zimmerman were fired from their respective agencies for their racist, homophobic slurs during the live feeds, CBS decided to air the remarks on last night's episode.

The episode aired some of the alleged comments, including Gries using the word "queer" and telling an Asian-American contestant to "shut up and go and make some rice."

Similarly, Zimmerman was fired for insulting the same Asian-American cast member, Helen Kim.

"Andy was like, 'I'm gonna punch her in the face,' and I was like, 'Maybe that'll make her eyes straight,'" said Zimmerman to another cast member.

She was also filmed talking about an African-American cast member, saying that "Candice is on the dark side because she's already dark."

The episode segment predominantly featured the racist and homophobic comments by Gries and Zimmerman, although fellow cast member Spencer Clawson was also caught making racist slurs.

So what does this mean for Big Brother 2013? Ratings of course!

Despite the series' steady decline in viewership, the controversy surrounding the cast members saw a bump in rating last night, with roughly 6.25 million viewers tuning in to catch the houseguests in the act, according to TV Addict.

With a score of reruns and weak summer competition, Big Brother was the highest rated program of the night.

"Does she not know we're on TV and she shouldn't say stuff like that?" mused houseguest Judd Daughterty of Gries.

Nope, apparently not.
