'Fifty Shades Of Grey’ Movie Cast News: Henry Cavill, Ian Somerhalder, Robert Pattinson As Christian Grey, Hints By Author E.L. James?

"Fifty Shades of Grey" movie adaption has a release date and a director, but still no cast. However, bestselling author of the erotic series, E.L. James, may have dropped hints as to who will play Christian Grey. Will it be Henry Cavill, Ian Somerhalder, or Robert Pattinson?

The Stir reports that fans of the series that have paid close attention to news about "Fifty Shades of Grey" will notice hints dropped by E.L. James.

James initially said that casting Pattinson as Christian Grey would be "weird," Fashion&Style reports, but recently the two got together and discussed the film.

Pattinson held a big party at his house and talked to James about the movie during their conversation.

"Rob and E.L. were in deep conversation," a source told OK magazine. "Rob also joked that it would be the best acting of his life, because there is no way he is that confident in real life."

As for Ian Somerhalder taking the role, James admitted in September that she is a fan of "The Vampire Diaries," in which Somerhalder plays one of the main characters, The Examiner reports. This probably also means that she's a fan of Ian.

Lastly, according to The Examiner, Henry Cavill, star of "Man of Steel," met with the producers of "Fifty Shades of Grey." However, it was reportedly on a "different film business" basis, but if the producers like Cavill they might tap him for the coveted role.

Fans hoped all guessing would be silenced at this year's Comic-Con in San Diego, where it was rumored that the cast of "Fifty Shades of Grey" would be revealed. However, James tweeted that this would not happen.

"I dunno where this rumour started that the cast would be revealed at Comic Con...but it is just that - a rumour. (Sighs)," James wrote on her Twitter.

So what have the contenders for Christian Grey's role said?

In 2012, Somerhalder responded to whether or not he would take the part: "I absolutely would be up for that. I have the book and I just started reading it. That would be a pretty incredible thing, and hopefully that could pan out, I think... Yes, beyond the shadow of a doubt I think that would be a phenomenal opportunity!"

Cavill told Details magazine in November: "Whether that happens, that decision will be made at the time it has to be made.."It would be a very different kind of thing than Man of Steel."

"Fifty Shades of Grey" is scheduled to hit theaters on August 1, 2014, and is directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson.
