Pokemon X And Y Battle Interface: 3DS Graphics Update With Round Buttons, But Battery, Clock, Wi-Fi Icons Omitted

As Nintendo prepares for the launch of Pokemon X and Y, the battle interface has been unveiled in the 3DS eShop.

In the new screenshots, fans can see an updated graphical flair thanks to the 3DS upgrade, with a different color representing the "fight," "bag," "run," and "Pokemon" buttons.

If you look closely, you can also see gray cell shading within the buttons that showcase what the buttons do. Note the actual bag on the "bag" button, or the Pokeball on the "Pokemon" button. In addition, the menu icon for the Pokemon currently out is seen on the "fight" button.

For the most part, Pokemon gamers will probably feel impartial when it comes to these small changes, but a few things have been omitted from the new battle interface that could cause concerns

Fans have noted that the clock is now gone that appeared in Pokemon Black 2 and White 2, which means gamers must hit the 3DS Home button to bring up the information.

"I hope this isn't the finished product since the battery icon was VERY useful (time and Wi-Fi as well)," writes Jordin on a Pokemon forum.

At the same, the act of hitting the 3DS Home button has been defended by others as a simple way to gain system information.

"Battery icon, time and Wi-Fi aren't needed. Just tap the Home button and go back. Yeah it's not as convenient as showing it on the screen itself, but it's how most 3DS games do it," responds Daedardus.

Omitting such information in the battle interface may be Nintendo's way of making Pokemon X and Y sleek and pleasing to the eye.

What do you think? Are these big changes, or is this satisfactory?
