George H. W. Bush Shaves Head To Support 2-Year-Old With Leukemia

George H. W. Bush shaved his head to show support for a 2-year-old who is battling leukemia.

The former President George H. W. Bush shaved his head Wednesday as a show of solidarity with a 2-year-old-boy who is battling leukemia.

The boy is the son of one of the members of Bush's Secret Service security detail.

Due to his cancer treatments, the boy, named Patrick, lost most of his hair.

Several members of Bush's Secret Service team, who are collectively called the Bush Protective Division, had also shaved their head in support of the little boy.

So George H.W. Bush, 89, got the idea to do so himself.

Bush also helped organize a website, www.patrickspals.org, in order to help out with Patrick's medical costs, staffers say.

His wife Barbara Bush lost a daughter to leukemia in 1953 when the little girl, Pauline, was only 4 years old.

Bush posed for photos with Patrick and the rest of his Secret Service security detail, showing row after row of bald heads.
