Buy Drinks With Your Phone With NFL's Jonathan Vilma: 17 Bars In New York City, Miami, L.A., Atlanta, Austin Join Tallahassee With New BarEye App

Buy drinks with your phone thanks to the NFL's Jonathan Vilma and his partners that provide an app that allows its users to order drinks, talk to others and even get free beer and it's called BarEye.

After a successful trial in Tallahassee, Fla. five new cities will join in on this app that allows customers to buy drinks with their phone. The co-founders, New Orleans Saints football player and bar owner Jonathan Vilma, and his business partners Andrew Bennett and Richard S Hunter III got the BaryEye app to be available in Atlanta, Austin, Los Angeles, Miami and New York City bars.

It is available on iOS and Android phones.  First, you have to download the BarEye app and from there, sign on with your Facebook account and then you can order drinks for yourself, Facebook friends, or other BarEye users right from your phone.

"I've been a bar owner for several years now and seen how quickly people get on their phones to check in on social networks or text friends, after ordering a drink," Vilma said in a statement. "Now with BarEye, they can open one app to do all of that and order drinks at the same time. They can even buy a drink for a friend as an icebreaker to get them to come hang out."

It all started in Tallahassee and now with bars adjusting to the era of social media and the usage of cell phones like never before, other bars want to do the same adjusting. BarEye signed up 17 bars with more than 10,000 app downloads and 6,000 drinks bought, according to PCmag.com.

"The success of our pilot in Tallahassee was a real validation that BarEye is ready to scale," co-founder Bennett said in a statement. "Bars recognize the ever-growing need to embrace varied social networks as a means to increase their audience, engage their consumers and stay relevant."

The BayEye app allows people to order drinks for friends even if they aren't physically there. You can, for instance, order a drink for a friend to redeem the next time they hit up that spot, or send someone a drink on their birthday when you see they've checked in somewhere, according to PCmag.com.

BarEye app is available in the App Store and Google Play.

Franchisee, the bar, and BarEye will split the revenue as the co-founders are looking for franchises to help the app become more successful.
