‘Avengers 2’ Cast Characters: Aaron Taylor-Johnson Talks To ‘Age of Ultron' Director For Role Of ‘Favorite Character’ Quicksilver

Aaron Taylor-Johnson confirmed he is talking to director Joss Whedon about taking on "The Avengers 2: Age of Ultron" character Quicksilver, and may join the cast of the "Avengers" sequel.

The "Kick-Ass" star told Collider: "I feel really flattered and honored that they came to me for that role."

Taylor-Johnson continued, "I sat down with Joss, I think he's awesome, I sat down with the guys at Marvel and they're also great. I think it'd be interesting."

Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch are a "brother-sister act" in the upcoming sequel. According to DigitalSpy.com, Whedon previously described the duo as "two of my favorite characters from the comic book." Whedon promised Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch would also play significant roles in "Age of Ultron."

Taylor-Johnson told MTV news that he would work with the character and think about a long term contract with Marvel, Latinos Post reports.

"I think when it comes around and you're asking about 'Avengers 2′ and Quicksilver and things like that, the thing is to think about that he's an abandoned child," Aaron mused about the character.

"Him and his sister [Scarlet Witch] are abandoned and they live in Eastern Europe. There's more character aspects that I'm interested in than the power aspect," he said.

Taylor-Johnson is currently making the press rounds for "Kick-Ass 2." He will next be seen in Gareth Edwards "Godzilla," a film he promoted at Comic-Con.

The Latinos Post reports that "Avengers 2: Age of Ultron" is currently in pre-production and will star Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Chris Evans (Captain America), Mark Ruffalo (The Hulk), Scarlet Johansson (Black Widow), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury) and Cobie Soulders. Disney will release "Avengers: Age of Ultron" in 2015.
