Johnny Depp's girlfriend Amber Heard finally opens up about their dating life in a recent interview with Flare magazine, as she graces the cover of its September 2013 issue.

Amber reveals what she doesn't want her relationship with Depp to be like, and essentially emphasizes how she wants to keep their lives private.

"It's not part of my professional life. I want to be an artist. I don't want to be a celebrity...You can find pictures of me [on the Internet] pumping gas, picking up dry cleaning, walking my dog, but nowhere are you going to find pictures of me hanging around at some nightclub...Can you ever imagine yourself in a situation like Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie or Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, where the world feels like they have a stake in your private life? I would never want it... I guess I could not hold hands with who I want to, but what kind of life would that be? I don't want to change just because people are watching. I've always been the person who says what she wants."

The 27-year-old and Depp, 50, have kept their relationship very private. Though they have been spotted out to dinner and traveling with Depp's children as they tour the world to promote his latest film "The Lone Ranger," they never officially confirmed their relationship or appeared on the red carpet together.

The actors first met on the set of "Rum Diary" in 2009, but didn't start dating until a few years later. Their relationship was confirmed in June 2012, Us Weekly reports.

Heard was last linked to girlfriend Tasya van Ree, after four years of dating. Depp announced his split with longtime love Vanessa Paradis in June 2012 after 14 years together.

In the Flare interview, Amber also talks about her new film "Paranoia," in which she has a few sex scenes with Liam Hemsworth, Miley Cyrus' fiancé and star of "The Hunger Games."

Amber said about the film: "I loved how you're dealing with a lot of old themes like greed and power, but it's such a modern story. My character basically had to be smart enough to manipulate Liam Hemsworth's character. Yes, there are sex scenes, but it wasn't like she was falling at his feet."
