Katy Perry New Album 2013 [Update} Titled 'Prism,' October 22 Release Date With Darker Image Than 'Teenage Dream' Pop Music For Fourth Studio Record

Katy Perry new album for 2013 is set to hit stores on October 22 with the name "Prism," which was announced via a gold truck driving around L.A. on Tuesday.

The golden truck found its way to Twitter via a photo snapped of the long, stretched truck, painted in all gold besides "Katy Perry - Prism - 10-22-13." It's safe to assume this is the 2013 new album for the "California Gurls" singer and its official release date.

Katy Perry told Billboard that her new album for 2013 will contain darker elements compared to her usual work.  For her fourth studio-album, Perry also said she doesn't want it to be "Teenage Dream 2.0."

"That would be silly, the multiple-time MTV VMA award-winner told Billboard. "It's not of any interest for me to try and outdo myself at every corner. Eventually you just like pop, explode."

Perry said she knows everything she wants in this album, including everything from the music to its physical image.

"I know exactly the record I want to make next. I know the artwork, the coloring and the tone..... I even know what type of tour I'm doing next. I'll be very pleased if the vision I have in my head becomes a reality," Perry told Billboard late last year.

So far three tracks have been announced to be a part of the album-"Double Rainbow," "Bad Photographs" and "Roar." Some of the names announced in helping to put together the album are Diplo Sia Furler, Max Martin, Dr. Luke, Bonnie McKee. These names have collaborated "Teenage Dream" singer on the album.

With nine nominations for the Grammy Awards, she has come up empty-handed. A new album could help the star reach that next level.
