‘Vampire Diaries’ Season 5 Spoilers: Rebekah And Matt Break Up And 'Dunzo' After Travelling The World Together?

"The Vampire Diaries" season 5 premieres this October, and takes place three months after the season 4 finale. Executive producer Caroline Dries and actress Claire Holt dish spoilers between Rebekah and Matt.

Claire Holt plays the Original vampire Rebekah on "The Vampire Diaries," and recently talked about how her relationship with Matt will progress as the show moves forward, Latinos Post reports.

"In the last episode, Matt told her, 'I have to keep my life vampire free,' so she knew going into it that they would have a little fun, travel the world together and now she's ready to move on and take down more men in New Orleans," she said.

Holt will star on "The Vampire Diaries" spin-off, "The Originals," also set to kick off this fall on The CW.

"Vampire Diaries" executive producer Caroline Dries also told fans that episode 3 will be a flashback episode, according to TVLine. "It is a decade we haven't seen before," she says. "It's going to be very good."

In the TV Guide Mega Buzz spoiler chat session, they stated, "while we won't rule out the opportunity for crossover episodes, Claire Holt seems pretty sure that the two are dunzo for now."

What about "fan favorite relationships" between another Original vampire? Klaus and Caroline don't have a ton of hope on the show, considering his character will also move to "The Originals" spin-off. However, executive producer Julie Plec says there is a possibility of a few more episodes starring their relationship.

Plec says her first concern is to "establish a show that works as its own," but "we don't want to pretend like those relationships never existed."

But Candice Accola, who plays Caroline, also assured that fans "will be satisfied. There will be a couple more sweet moments before the season's done!"
