Lindsay Lohan's Movie "Into The Wild" Is Kinda Tanking Right As She Completes Rehab: Will Harsh Criticism Cause Relapse Temptation?

Lindsay Lohan has been released back into society after completing rehab.

90 court-ordered days later, Lindsay stepped out again, looking glowing and healthy.

She will have a new movie, "Into the Wild" coming out this week.  It was shot before she entered rehab. The movie's premiere will be poolside at a swanky hotel, rather than in a movie theater, as tradition dictates...which sounds, well, Old Lindsay style. LiLo may not come...but there's still a lot of buzz around the film.

However, the buzz isn't all good. In fact, the reviews have been pretty awful.

This is troubling on a personal standpoint for Lindsay. After all, it's one of her first Serious Acting roles. It's not big-budget, she's not a little girl. She wants to be taken seriously and act.

She's also highly vulnerable right now, so some worry that being exposed to the world (which, even for non-famous people leaving rehab, is hard enough), then finding a ton of very negative, cynical publicity about her in that world (and about her ability to do what she is passionate about), may prompt a relapse.

Uh-oh. Still, she will take it easy at first, reps assured press.

"Lindsay is kicking back and relaxing before she starts working again," a source close to the screen star assured us. "She is focusing on a good support system and having the right people around her. She is taking her life more seriously than ever now."

Still, she will do a few promo appearances-one by guest-hosting Chelsea Lately, and one by filming an eight-part series with Oprah chronicling her time in rehab. But Lindsay skipping straight from rehab to a poolside premier is, well, concerning.

It's pretty clear that everyone desperately wants her to do better and may not be able to support her after another relapse. Addiction is a serious issue, and in the wake of the death of Cory Monteith, many are hopeful that Lindsay's story will now be one of redemption-not another train wreck.

Still, Lindsay has been praised numerous times by her treatment team and family as having made a huge turnaround and a lot of progress- so perhaps this time will be the time that sticks. She seems to be taking recovery seriously.

Let's hope it sticks-and that the pressure doesn't prove too much to handle.

"Exposing and immersing Lindsay in the temptations of Hollywood and further encouraging her to exaggerate her extreme personality and vulnerability on television will only help send her back into the addiction she is trying to break free from," said human behavior expert, Patrick Wanis PhD. "This is just driving the public's insatiable thirst for Lindsay's personal life, which has completely overtaken her acting career, and helped destroy it."
