The "WWIII Queen's speech' script has now been revealed-and it's a chilling portrayal of what might have happened. The WWIII Queen's speech was to be given if there was a nuclear war in the Cold War.

The 1983 Queen's speech was to encourage Britons at the advent of war. The take-home message?  Keep calm and carry on. Surprise, surprise.

The speech warns of the "madness" of nuclear war and has the same ol', same ol' empire message. It described Britain as a "brave country" that is "greater" than any other in history.

The document has recently been released due to the U.K's 30-year rule. It was written in Spring 1983 as one of several potential scenarios. It tried to prepare Britain for the advent of WWIII. The Queen's speech mentions Prince Andrew as well as the Queen's traditional Christmas script....but it also deviates from anything that was really happening. Thank God.

The WWIII Queen's speech begins, "The horrors of war could not have seemed more remote as my family and I shared our Christmas joy with the growing family of the Commonwealth.

"Now, this madness of war is once more spreading through the world and our brave country must again prepare itself to survive against great odds.

"Not for a single moment did I imagine that this solemn and awful duty would one day fall to me.

The Queen's WWIII speech tries to give the country strength, saying,

"But whatever terrors lie in wait for us all, the qualities that have helped to keep our freedom intact twice already during this sad century will once more be our strength."

The exercise speech came US President Ronald Reagan was in a cold war with Moscow after calling the Soviet Union an "evil empire" and detailing plans for a "Star Wars" ballistic missile shield. He deployed nuclear missiles to Europe. Escalating tension was worsened subsequently when Russia shot down a

a South Korean plane that drifted into their airspace, which killed all 269 on board.

The speech called on families to unite in this difficult (hypothetical) time, saying,

"It is this close bond of family life that must be our greatest defense against the unknown.

"If families remain united and resolute, giving shelter to those living alone and unprotected, our country's will to survive cannot be broken."

The speech ended with a "simple" message. It said,

"As we strive together to fight off the new evil, let us pray for our country and men of goodwill wherever they may be. God Bless you all."

The Cold War later came to an end after both the U.S. and Russia agreed to reduce nuclear weapons. And the rest is history.
