Nexus 5 Release Date Likely November 2013 [LEAKED PHOTO]: Asus, Motorola The Top Contenders To Manufacture Upcoming Google Smartphone

While there's no official announcement yet regarding Nexus 5 release date, an alleged photo of the upcoming Google smartphone has already emerged online.

A leaked imageof the rumored Nexus 5 (posted above this article) is spreading on the online world quickly, making the Android fans even hungrier with more information about the upcoming smartphone. Furthermore, fans are now clamoring for more details about Nexus 5 release date and specs, especially after the release of Nexus 7 and Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. However, the internet giant is still keeping its mum regarding the device, but there are already Nexus 5 release date rumors flying around the mobile world.

For instance, International Business Times posted the possibility that Nexus 5 release date may be set for November 2013, since its predecessor, the LG-built Nexus 4, was launched same month of last year. This Nexus 5 release date rumor may actually be true if Google plans on unleashing a yearly refresh of their Nexus line of Android mobile devices.

Meanwhile, BGR also made a report regarding rumors claiming that Nexus 5 will have its unveiling on October 5. However, according to the site, this may be unlikely since October 5 falls on a Saturday.

Moreover, it is reported that LG will not continue with the manufacturing of the successor of LG-built Nexus 4, as supported by the statement from Won Kim, the Vice President of LG Mobile in Europe. He shared, "The Nexus 4 was a great success despite the production problems for us and Google. However we do not need such a marketing success again."

Because of this, news are saying that Google is currently in the lookout for a manufacturing partner that will build their new Android phone. However, aside from not sharing details yet regarding Nexus 5 release date, the internet search giant is still not making any announcement yet about the new manufacturer for the forthcoming device.

But according to a report from TechThirsty, as cited by the IB Times, Asus and Motorola Mobility are the likely candidates for the manufacturing of Nexus 5.

Motorola Mobility was acquired by Google and it recently released its current flagship device, the Moto X. On the other hand, Asus is the one responsible for the manufacturing of Nexus 7.
