Fatal Venice Boardwalk Crash [VIDEO]: Man Arrested On $1 Million Bail, Charged With Murder, Woman Killed Name Revealed While 11 Others Are In Critical Condition

A fatal Venice boardwalk crash led to the arrest of a 38-year-old man in connection with the death of a 32-year-old woman on a hit-and-run Saturday in California.

The fatal Venice boardwalk crash had some closure when the alleged killer was arrested and placed on a $1 million bail. The suspect, Nathan Campbell has been charged with the murder of Alice Gruppioni of Italy.

The Los Angeles Police Department held a press conference Sunday to reveal the information of the alleged suspected killer and the victim. No possible motive was given by the police.

Several videos have emerged showing the fatal Venice boardwalk crash, which left one person dead and at least 11 others hurt, including one in critical condition. Witnesses told the Los Angeles Times that the driver was going at least 60 mph straight into the boardwalk around 6 p.m. when it crashed into it, hurting almost a dozen.

"The vehicle appeared to be moving purposefully down the boardwalk, according to witnesses," one witness told the Times.

"A car plowed through the boardwalk," Daniel Regidor, another witness said, who was running nearby when the crash occurred. "I saw somebody flying up in the air, when I came upon the scene, there were a bunch of people on the ground, bloodied."

The driver reportedly drove off even faster than when he collided with the boardwalk.

"People screaming, running. I was half a mile from the scene, but you could see just this mass of people trying to get out of the way.... Just a lot of people screaming.... It was horrible," another witness said.
