Game Of Thrones Wins 'Best Drama' At TCA Awards As Kit Harington Defends Season 4 Casting Controversy, Is Pedro Pascal 'Too White'?

As "Game of Thrones" season 4 continues filming, it has garnered more awards and little bit of controversy in casting Pedro Pascal as the Red Viper.

"I haven't seen him in costume yet, but I have had dinner with him a couple of times. He's a lovely man," says Kit Harington to Yahoo! News regarding Pedro Pascal.

"He's going to be brilliant. It's an amazing character and quite the story line. You're going to enjoy it. [Fans] won't be disappointed; Pedro Pascal is the man for the job."

This statement comes as Kit Harington and Emilia Clarke arrived at the TCA Awards, where "Game of Thrones" snagged the "Best Drama" award.

Meanwhile, some "Game of Thrones" fans have been disappointed with the casting of Pedro Pascal, claiming the show is "whitewashing" the cast when the original creation by George R.R. Martin is darker in skin tone.

To this, "Game of Thrones" creator George R.R. Martin responded with a blog post.

"I wasn't present for Pedro Pascal's audition, but I understand that he really killed it with his reading. So I suspect that he will turn out to be a wonderful Red Viper."

"As for the Dornishmen, well, though by and large I reject one to one analogies, I've always pictured the 'salty Dornish' as being more Mediterranean than African in appearance; Greek, Spanish, Italian, Portugese, etc. Dark hair and eyes, olive skin. Pedro Pascal is Chilean."

So, it seems while some "Game of Thrones" viewers believe this stunt to be narrow in scope, others seem to think differently.
