Kansas Sinkhole Growing, Leaves Residents In Awe At "God-Thing" That Swallowed Pasture, Overruns Rural Town With Tourists [VIDEO]

A Kansas sinkhole is growing...and growing. Tourists have flocked to the tiny Kansas town to gawk at the sinkhole, and things have changed in just days. After the Kansas sinkhole appeared, people were surprised and disbelieving-but now, they're on edge and a little frightened. You can watch a VIDEO of the Kansas sinkhole below.

The sinkhole is still expanding, and authorities are worried a gawker into the void will be injured.

The Kansas sinkhole swallowed a pasture and continues to grow. The sheriff of the small Kansas town said, "Man had nothing to do with this. This is a God thing. There's no oil well around here, there are no irrigation wells anywhere near. This is something that just happened," said Sheriff Larry Townsend.
Yes, really. The sheriff called the Kansas sinkhole a "God-thing". Like something out of a Western movie. It is speculated that he later rode off into the sunset, or perhaps had a battle with a sharpshooter at high noon over a game of cards at a saloon that went sour.
Sheriff Townsend and others in Wallace County, Kansas are baffled by the sinkhole-the earth simply opened up overnight, leaving a hole in the middle of Dalton Hoss' pasture.
The Kansas sinkhole is 200 feet across and 90 feet deep, authorities say-and growing.

The owner has posted "No Trespassing" signs in hopes of keeping people out, but thus far, they haven't worked.
When a resident discovered the Kansas sinkhole, he called his brother and described the incident. Voice quaking with disbelief, he said, , 'You'll never believe what I just saw."
Other residents in the remote community north of Sharon Springs in Wallace County are similarly in disbelief. Tourists are coming to take pictures of the sinkhole and hike to the bottom. And according to Sheriff Larry Townsend, nothing will stop the sinkhole from growing.
Large cracks continue to spread out across the earth along the edges of the sinkhole.
"Something unexplainable happened that's left people in awe and a little on edge," one person said.
"How can this happen? What happened to what was below?," another visitor said.
How big the Kansas sinkhole will grow remains to be seen-but there certainly isn't a pasture there anymore.
