Apple surprises developers when it releases iOS 7 beta 5 download just eight days after the previous version was unleashed. iOS 7 beta 5 download was expected to come out on August 12, (based on Apple's two-week release cycle for iOS test versions) but as Gotta Be Mobile posted, "it looks like Apple is making up for lost time with a new version of the iOS 7 beta."

MacRumors posted that the iOS 7 beta 5 download brings a host of changes, bug fixes and improvements to the operating system. These include a redesigned Settings icon and a Control Center option, allowing the feature to be disabled within the apps.

The feature is simply called 'Access Within Apps' and the new slider turns off Control Center for all apps. However, because of its all-or-nothing approach, Zdnet commented that it is not ideal, as it further shared, "It would be better if the Control Center setting allowed you to blacklist apps that conflicted with the feature. Or alternatively, you could whitelist apps that you did want Control Center to work with."

Furthermore, despite the absence of a full change log, early birds are already reporting some enhancements they notice on the update. One, the Twitter icon has been redesigned. Also, the slider bar when turning off the iPhone also received some changes on iOS 7 beta 5.

Generally, Apple developers are saying that iOS 7 beta 5 renders a much smoother performance. However, longer startup times are noticeable.

iOS 7 beta 5 download and other test firmwares can be downloaded for free by members of Apple's developer site which, however, requires a $99 yearly subscription fee.
