Ambler Tamblyn, the former `Joan of Arcadia,’ joined the cast of 'Two and a Half Men.' Amber Tamblyn will play Charlie's lesbian daughter. Ambler Tamblyn was last seen on the small screen in the series “House.”

Ambler Tamblyn will join “Two and a Half Men” as Jenny on the comedy series produced by Chuck Lorre. The former “Joan of Arcadia” star will play Jenny, the bisexual illegitimate daughter of the Charlie Harper, who was played by Charlie Sheen. The Charlie Harper character was killed off after Charlie Sheen and Chuck Lorre had a very very public falling out.

Ambler Tamblyn’s character, Jenny, will moves to Los Angeles pursues an acting career. While she’s in town she will reconnect with her family, which includes Alan, played by Jon Cryer.
Chuck Lorre said "The character as we know her now as she only exists on the page, is a pretty remarkably strong and ballsy character. The idea that she loves women seems to be something that just felt right. I think it's going to be uncomfortable at first, then maybe over time there might be some affection there. I think the affection goes beyond sexuality, he just truly likes this young woman."

Ambler Tamblyn was cast just under a month after a search the producers first started looking for a new cast member to replace Angus T. Jones. Jones announced he would not be returning to the show just four months before that. It is believed that Angus T. Jones would not be returning to the show as a regular on the series after he bashed “Two and a Half Men” on YouTube.

Lorre told E! News "I'm hopeful that he'll carve out some time to do some episodes and he's certainly not written out of the series by any means."

The announcement said Amber Tamblyn will appear in five episodes. She may become a co-lead on the show. “Two and a Half Man” currently gives Jon Cryer and Ashton Kutcher top-billing.

Tamblyn was most recently seen on televisision on the Fox series “House,” which concluded its run last year. Amber Tamblyn she played the intern Martha Masters

CBS announced that “Three and a Half Men” would be renewed for an 11th season in April. The same month that the network announced that original cast member Angus T. Jones wouldn't be coming back as a full-time character. Charlie Sheen was fired from the show after a public fight with producer Chuck Lorre in March of 2011. Sheen was replaced by “That 70s Show”’s Ashton Kutcher.

While she’s best known for playing the title role in “Joan of Arcadia,” Tamblyn also acted in “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants,” “127 Hours” and “Django Unchained.”
