Beyonce revealed her new bob haircut on Instagram Wednesday night, launching a national flurry on social media. Her haircut was a trending topic on Twitter, while her fans and other celebrities were divided on Beyonce's daring haircut. Some were prompted to follow her lead for the trendy 2013 bob haircut style.

 "Nearly got out my scissors this morning after seeing @Beyonce 's pixie cut. I only just managed to restrain myself. Close call though," wrote "Harry Potter" star Emma Watson on Twitter, The Epoch Times reports.

Hair stylists and makeup artists said Beyonce is going to start a new trend, similar to the shock and awe following Miley Cyrus' cropped hairstyle.

"I assure you Beyoncé's new haircut will be the hottest haircut to hit America since Jennifer Aniston's 'Rachel' hairdo,'' Damone Roberts, a Los Angeles-based makeup expert, told the Daily Beast.

Another hair stylist, who had styled Beyonce and other stars' hair in the past, showed more surprise to the website: "I'm kinda shocked she cut it I must say. Her hair has been so much of who she is over the years. That lion's mane made her the baddest chick on the block."

On the other hand, "Friday" singer Rebecca Black had a very strong response to the superstar's makeover, USA Today reports.

"BEYONCE NO," she tweeted boldly.

Fans were equally as divided on Beyonce's haircut, some saying it was amazing, and others lamenting her famous long locks, IB Times reports.

"Yay! Bey with short hair!" commented one user on her Instagram picture.

Others agreed that her new 'do just add to her gorgeous features.

But other fans were not as pleased, writing comments such as "Noo :(" and "I hate her hair short, not cute," IB Times reports

"I still love Beyonce ... even with that hideous haircut, she's a hottieeee & has an amazing voiceee [sic]!" one Twitter user said, according to IB Times.
