Nexus 7 2 Update: Google Already Working On The Bug Fix For Reported GPS Issues

Nexus 7 2 update for the software is deemed necessary since a lot of users are experiencing issues on the tablet's GPS.

The latest Google tablet, the Asus-built Nexus 7 2 is currently making the headlines because of problems with its GPS applications. Apparently, owners of Nexus 7 2 are currently venting their problems with the tablet's GPS on XDA Developers forum, Android Central forum pages and Google Groups.

Citing a Nexus 7 2 owner, Phone Arena described the issue, " the device will lock on to the satellite with no problem and you can be located or navigate your way around town for 10 to 30 minutes before the tracking suddenly stops."

Reportedly, Google is aware of this GPS problem and the internet search firm is currently looking into it. However, Google din not state any details about the possible release date of the Nexus 7 2 update.

According to Engadget, the problems with Nexus 7 2's GPS application vary from "total flake out, to halting after 10 to 30 minutes." Comments from Nexus 7 2 users indicated that the GPS signal works for some amount of time, from 2-30 minutes and then it will suddenly goes out failing to connect.

Phone Arena further noted, "Even exchanging the affected unit for another one didn't solve the problem for at least one owner."

Several Nexus 7 2 owners tried to fix the issue by doing complete reinstalls but still, it does not fix the issue. Moreover, Engadget also shared a suggestion to disable Google Play Services as it might help things. But you need to follow it with caution as the Google Play Services is also used by other Android applications.

If your tablet is also affected by this issue, expect a Nexus 7 2 update to roll out as the engineering team should be releasing a patch as soon as possible.
