Minecon 2013 Tickets: Mojang Will NOT Sell Passes At The Door Despite Fans’Online Petition; More Info About 3rd All-Things Minecraft Event Revealed

Vu Bui, the Chief Operating Officer of Mojang, unveils more details about the upcoming Minecon 2013, which is set to happen in Orlando, Florida, specifically at  West Building of Orange County Convention Center from Novemebr 2-3.

Mojang's COO shared that Minecon 2013 is exciting for them since it is an opportunity to "bring together thousands of Minecraft players all in one place and give them a chance to meet each other and Mojang, and give people a really amazing experience involving a game that is so integrated into our lives."

Furthermore, Vu Bui also said that they are not recommending the interested attendees to get second hand Minecon 2013 tickets, because as he shared, "they are terribly expensive and there's no way to guarantee that you will be getting genuine tickets."

Meanwhile, a Minecraft fan created an online petition at Change.org asking Mojang to sell Minecon 2013 tickets at the door and currently, it only needs 24 supporters. However, Mojang already confirmed that they will not be selling tickets during Minecon 2013 tickets because, as Vu Bui stated,  "tens of thousands of people could show up, and our venue is planned for the 7500 tickets we sold."

The indie game developer of Minecraft, Mojang AB, decided to divide to sell Minecon 2013 tickets in three batches, which include 2500 passes each. This is to "give people the most chance of being able to buy them when they are available, whether they have jobs, school or other things that could get in the way of any one specific time or day."

Mojang will also hold live stream for Minecon 2013 event. The post shared, "The entire time the show is going we will stream content, from the main panels to the show floor, sharing as much of the event as possible, as it happens, to people at home." Afterwards, all the MINECON streams and panels will be available to view on Youtube.

Furthermore, Vu Bui shared that more information on volunteers, panels and exhibitors will be announced soon.

Each batch of Minecon 2013 tickets sold out quickly after their scheduled release. Mojang also provided hotel packages available for a special discounted rate.
