Amanda Bynes' Mother Gets Temporary Conservatorship; Psych Lockup Extended 30 Days

Amanda Bynes, the former Nickelodeon actress turned Twitter star, has been in psychiatric lockup since she reportedly lit a fire in a stranger’s driveway. On Friday, Amanda Bynes’ mother was granted a temporary conservatorship over the troubled ex-teen.

Court documents show that Amanda Bynes' mother asked for the conservatorship after Amanda Bynes went through a large portion of the money she saved from her years on television.

Ventura County Superior Court judge Glen M. Reiser granted Lynn Bynes conservatorship over her daughter, Amanda Bynes. Lynn Bynes now controls all decisions that relate to Amanda Bynes’ health and finances. The conservatorship goes into effect on Sept. 30.

Amanda Bynes will continue to be in psychiatric hold for another 30 days. The Associated Press reported that Amanda Bynes lockup was extended. There is a chance it could end before that

Amanda Bynes was raised in Thousand Oaks, Calif. That wasn’t the only trouble she got into with the law. Bynes was charged with a DUI and with driving with a suspended license. Amanda Bynes was also arrested in New York for allegedly throwing a bong out of her apartment window in May. Bynes said it was a vase. She denies using drugs or drinking.
