A lot of PlayStation 4 release date rumors were claiming a November launch for Sony's next-generation game console. However, GameStop might have put an additional spice on the myriad of PlayStation 4 release date news as it might have spilled out a late December arrival of the console, at least for UK.

PlayStation 4 release date in the UK may be set for December 29, as posted on Gamestop, and reported by International Business Times. Though you cannot find it on the preo-order main page of the device, the PlayStation 4 release date is posted on the product summary page for the Sony console located in the buyer' shopping cart section.

It can be noted that leading retailers like UK, Ebay and Game UK are holding back from providing buyers a concrete PlayStation 4 release date, with many of them just posting "To Be Announced" for the release of the highly-anticipated console.

Aside from PlayStation 4 release date, the console's DVR is also a much-talked about feature of the upcoming platform. And good news for the Sony fans, the company recently announced that the game recording on the PlayStation 4 will be free for anyone, regardless whether you have or have not subscribed to PlayStation Plus.

Apart from free recording PlayStation 4 owners will also be able to stream and share on the PlayStation without a fee. These free services will actually be an advantage to PlayStation 4 owners because the Game DVR feature of Xbox One, its main competitor, will only be available for paid subscribers - those registered to Xbox Live Gold membership.

As reported by TechSpot, Shuhei Yoshida, the president of SCE Worldwide Studios, simply answered 'no' when he was asked by fans via Twitter if game recording would require a subscription to PlayStation Plus. He then later elaborated that this functionality will be free and available for all users.

Game recording for PlayStation 4 will allow gamers to capture up to 15 minutes of video footage and then share it with others. PlayStation 4 users will also have the chance to share their gameplay stream with a friend.

Sony has not been giving out an exact PlayStation 4 release date, but what is most certain is that the forthcoming console will arrive around holiday season.
