Eminem New Album 2013 Is Still On Track; Slim Shady Keeps Himself Busy With Live Shows and Collaborations, But Turns Down Some Team-Ups (Video)

Eminem’s new album for 2013 is still getting its finishing touches. Eminem’s hype man, Mr. Porter has been urging fans to be patient because you don’t want to “rush art.” That hasn’t kept Eminem from letting new music slip out though. Eminem did a show in New York City this week and popped into the studio to help out with new releases by Big Sean and Skylar Grey, but turned down collaboration with to Cee Lo Green and Goodie Mob.

Big Sean talked to Rolling Stone magazine to dish on working with Eminem and to promise that his new album, “Hall of Fame,” will be a classic. Especially his Detroit mix tape.

Big Sean told Rolling Stone "But I don't want to hype it up too much or anything. People hear 'classic' and they expect like Jesus Christ to be on there rapping. What I mean by 'classic' is it's a pure body of work; there's quality songs."

Big Sean met Eminem, his idol since he was a kid, and they spent twelve hours in the studio together. He told Rolling Stone magazine, “That was probably one of the best days of my life. Not only because I met Em' and we talked and exchanged stories, but because not only was I playing him my music but he was just so enthusiastic about it and loved it.”

Big Sean’s “Hall of Fame” will be released on August 27.

According to published reports, Eminem passed up a chance to contribute tracks to Cee Lo Green and Goodie Mob's upcoming “Age Against the Machine” album.

Cee Lo Green says he reached out to Eminem for a little support on their new track "White Power" but couldn’t get him in the studio.

Cee Lo told RapFix Live, "It had gotten out to the press and I just thought that it made a bold statement so I thought that Eminem would easily jump at the controversy being that I heard he had been gearing up to do a new record and getting ready to get back out and fight

In June Cee Lo said at a Los Angeles press conference that “White Power” was a "a black perspective on white power." Cee Lo said he thought an Eminem rap would complement the song perfectly. Cee Lo said "I would love to stand beside him on a sentiment, on a stance like that and just as a fan of his, I just wanted to hear him spit crazy on this particular track. It sounds really unorthodox; it didn't sound like anything I had ever heard him rhyme on before.”

Cee Lo says he doesn’t hold anything against Eminem. He said "I was just as a fan, really anticipating what he could do it. I don't know for whatever reason we weren't able to do it. I would've really liked to see it happen, but it did make the record though."

Eminem did make a rare live appearance in New York City this week. Eminem headlined G-Shock's "Shock the World" 30th anniversary show at Basketball City at Pier 36. Eminem performed "Won't Back Down," "Cleaning Out My Closet," "Love the Way You Lie," "Stan," "Lighters," and "Lose Yourself."
