The Katy Perry John Mayer break up make-up saga continues: Some say the split is off and marriage is on the table.  The musical couple dated last year but reportedly split up in March.

There is some evidence that Katy Perry and John Mayer are back together once again, and possibly getting married.  The pair were seen holding hands in New York and were at a barbeque together on the Fourth of July.

According to Showbiz Spy, a source said "She's changed his life for ever."

"This is the most serious John has been about anyone and he wants to make it official.

"Their romance is so strong - so it shouldn't be too long before he gets down on one knee."

Katy Perry said she is still "madly in love" with John Mayer in the July 2013 issue of Vogue, on which she is the cover girl.

"I still am madly in love with him. All I can say about that relationship is that he's got a beautiful mind .... Beautiful mind, tortured soul. I do have to figure out why I am attracted to these broken birds."

"I'm not in a relationship, I'm just on my own - I am myself in my own bed," she said. "I have to be happy being alone, and I am happy ... I believe that I will be loved again, in the right way ... I know I'm worth it."

Katy Perry was married to comedian Russell Brand.  She is best known for her songs Firework, California Gurls and I Kissed a Girl.  Her song I Kissed a Girl courted controversy.  Katy Perry is well known for her stage costumes which are candy colored and elaborate.

John Mayer is known for his singing and guitar playing.  He is a graduate of the Berklee School of Music.  His best known song is Wonderland.  He recently released a song, Paper Doll, that is reported to be about ex Taylor Swift.  The lyrics referenced Taylor's single "22": "You're like 22 girls in one/ And none of them know what they're running from/ Was it just too far to fall for a little paper doll?"  Mayer was upset by reports that Taylor Swift had written the song "Dear John" about him.

Both John Mayer and Katy Perry have new albums this year.  John Mayer just released a new album in July, and Katy Perry is releasing new album Prism in October.  She recently released a single, Roar, which shows the singer going for a darker side.
