Nina Dobrev, Ian Somerhalder Back Together for Teen Choice Awards; Vampire Stars Pull in the Surfboards

Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder got back together at the 2013 Teen Choice Awards. On stage anyway. The two stars from the CW’s “The Vampire Diaries” were both big winners last night.

Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder both looked great on the red carpet as fans of the fangers screamed to see them in the sun. In sharp contrast to the dark vampire styles on the show Nina Dobrev wore a plunging floral jumpsuit while Ian Somerhalder came casual in black T-shirt which call attention to the Ian Somerhalder Foundation.

Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder were together for the wins too. Nina Dobrev won the coveted giant surfboard for the Teen Choice Actress: Fantasy/Sci-Fi Award. Ian Somerhalder sucked the win out of the Teen Choice Actor: Fantasy.

The show itself, “The Vampire Diaries,” was nominated for Teen Choice Fantasy/Sci-Fi Show. Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley were nominated for Teen Choice Actor: Fantasy/Sci-Fi. Nina Dobrev and Kat Graham were each nominated for Teen Choice Actress: Fantasy/Sci-Fi. Steven R. McQueen got a nomination for Teen Choice Scene Stealer, Male and Candice Accola got the nomination for Teen Choice Scene Stealer, Female. Joseph Morgan was nominated for Teen Choice TV Villain.

While both Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder both won their categories, the other nominees from the vampire soap opera were not as luck. Joseph Morgan wasn’t quite villainous enough to steal the award from actress Janel Parrish from “Pretty Little Liars.” Glee’s Chord Overstreet put a stake in the heart of Steven R. McQueen’s chance. Miley Cyrus pulled off an upset win over Candice Accola with her recurring role on “Two and a Half Men” on CBS.

Kat Graham took to Twitter to show her love for the fans, even if she didn’t pull the Surfboard from the show. She tweeted “We thank you to everyone who voted! Love you! Breaking bad in an hour and a half, time to get focused!!”

Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder will be back together for the longer term starting Oct. 3 when The Vampire Diaries returns to the CW for its new season. “The Vampire Diaries” received eight Teen Choice Awards nominations.
