As "American Horror Story: Coven" continues filming in New Orleans, Angela Bassett has opened up about her season 3 character, Marie Laveau.

"Everybody's got their take on who Marie Laveau is. I was doing a scene with a 9-year-old boy yesterday. I said, 'Do you know who Marie Laveau is?' He said, 'Yeah.' I said, 'Who?' He said, 'She is a voodoo priestess,''' says Bassett according to Fansshare.

"I'm just thinking about how she possesses her power in maybe not traditional kinds of ways, and how (each of the season's characters) will be different, because we're powerful and dangerous in our own right. I'm just seeing how that will come alive."

For "American Horror Story: Coven," it has been confirmed that Angela Bassett and Jessica Lange will go head-to-head as the two primary leaders of two groups, the Salem witches and voodoo priestesses.

Reportedly, season 3 will see both Marie Laveau and Lange's character, Fiona, as they attempt to repair the rift between the two New Orleans communities.

Currently, "American Horror Story: Coven" is filming all over New Orleans with its illustrious cast, which include Lange, Bassett, Taissa Farmiga, Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson, Lily Rabe, Denis O'Hare, Gabourey Sidibe, Patti LuPone, Francis Conroy, Kathy Bates, and Emma Roberts.

Right now, it is reported that "American Horror Story" season 3 is filming in the 700 and 800 block of Market St. in New Orleans, in addition to filming around Richard St. and Constance St., according to OLV.

With a variety of set photos coming in regarding "American Horror Story: Coven," hopefully more will illuminate these mysterious characters before the October premiere.
