SBS ‘K-Pop Star’ popularity is soaring higher as it’s reaching a point where it may overtake other variety show programs.

Most recent episode of ‘K-Pop Star’ aired on February 5 has received 15% ratings according to AGB Nielsen Media Research.

The program placed third among all the entertainment programs of three main TV networks, while Running Man was ahead only by 2.2% placing second with 17.2% ratings.

Although it has joined the audition program as a latecomer with talented contestants such as Lee Michelle, Park Ji Min, Lee Hayi, and Park Jae Hyung to name a few.

“Thanks to the contestants who have amazing vocal power, ‘K-Pop Star’ is gaining a lot of popularity,” shared Park Sung Hun producer of ‘K-Pop Star’ to enews.

With ‘1Night, 2Days’ coming to an end, which has been a long time favorite of Sunday variety program, ‘K-Pop Star’ has appeared to become a dark horse.
