Upcoming Windows Tablets 2013: Microsoft Rumored To Be Working On Three Surface Tablets, 'Power Cover' Included

If you have seen how bad Microsoft's previous tablets have performed in the previous two quartes, then you might say this company is already going down. But obviously, that's not what the Redmond business has in mind.

According to GSM Arena, Microsoft is currently developing three new Surface tablets to be able to keep up with the competition at the end of the year, when manufacturers release their own tablets.

The first on the list is the Surface Pro 2 which borrows some of the features from its predecessors. However, it will boast a new Intel Core i5 Haswell process which is known for bringing in both power and power saving abilities to devices. Microsoft has also doubled the RAM from 4GB to 8GB, making the Surface Pro 2 a beast when it comes to multitasking and even high definition gaming.

Reports said battery life has also been improved to 7 hours (5 in the original Surface Pro) for more mobility options. Another feature that is said to prolong battery life is the keyboard cover that has a built-in battery.

Referred to as the Power Cover, this will undoubtedly make the Surface Pro 2 keyboard thicker and heavier than the first.

Meanwhile, no other details have been reported yet about the Windows RT-powered Surface 2, as well as the Surface Mini, though GSM Arena says the latter may be one of  those rumored gadgets from Microsoft that sports a 7" screen.
