iPhone 6 Rumors: Next iPhone To Get A 5" Screen, Says Apple Analyst

Since Apple became one of the two most powerful smartphone manufacturers on the planet, it has been plagued with accusations that it would not be able to develop phones with screens as large as those found in Android devices.

Now, all of those accusations will be put to the test.

According to Brian White, an Apple analyst from Cantor Fitzgerald, the iPhone will need a larger screen in order to fully compete with other smartphone brands, especially in the Far East.

In a note on Friday, White wrote that the Wall Street Journal hinted that Apple  'has begun evaluating a plan to offer iPhones with screens ranging from 4.8 inches to as high as 6 inches.'

He also added that Apple may indeed develop a bigger screen for its iPhone 6 to be released in 2014. While the company may be looking to add a big bump to screen size, White said it is unlikely that the new iPhone would have a 6" screen, or more.

Instead, a screen measuring at about 5 inches would be the the ideal option for the California based manufacturer according to White.

To end his note, White also stated that the release of the cheaper iPhone 5C would greatly provide more leverage for Apple in China, though that still remains to be seen.

If these rumors are proven to be true, that's one additional reason why Apple will still become one of the top smartphone manufacturers in the business.
