Upcoming Android Tablets 2013: Samsung's Upcoming Tablet Likely To Flop Amidst 'Smaller' Competition

While Samsung unveiled two of the most anticipated devices during the IFA event, the Galaxy Note 3 and the Galaxy Gear, it also announced another upcoming device, the Samsung Note 10.1.

Set to be released in 2014, this tablet borrows the name of its predecessor, all of it. And to distinguish the two Note 10.1s, Samsung creatively placed 2014 edition to the other one.

According to reports by BGR, this upcoming Android tablet boasts a 10.1-inch display with 2,560x1,600p resolution, a far cry from the previous Note 10.1's LCD. In addition, it will also feature an eight-core processor and 3GB of RAM for beastly performance. However, as far as some sources say, this edition of the Galaxy Note 10.1 will flop.

According to unnamed sources of Digitimes, majority of the market have already moved on to lower-sized tablet screens in recent years. That means there would not be reason for Samsung to release a tablet with a wider screen. As a result, the Korean manufacturer may only ship between 400,000 to 600,000 units per month.

It's still several months before 2014 arrives so Samsung still has time to modify anything. By that time, they may just find a better name for their upcoming tablet.
