The Salt Lake City Comic Con appearance Friday night was the first time William Shatner and Adam West have ever shared a stage.

William Shatner played Captain James T. Kirk on the original "Star Trek” science fiction TV Series. Adam West who played Batman, aka the Caped Crusader, aka Bruce Wayne in the 1960s cult TV series "Batman." Both shows were very influential.

William Shatner recently announced that he is making a prog album with Steve Vai and Mick Jones. This will be Star Trek icon William Shatner’s his fourth studio album. The concept record will be called “Ponder The Mystery.”

William Shatner says "It's quite possible the most creative thing I've ever done." William Shatner worked with Ritchie Blackmore, Steve Howe, Sheryl Crow and John Wetton for his 2011 album “Seeking Major Tom” which included Shatner doing Queen’s classic song “Bohemian Rhapsody.”

William Shatner and Adam West made their historic duel appearance at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Utah. The two TV icons shared stories about their Hollywood beginnings and how they became icons of pop culture. The Batman/Captain Kirk summit cost conventiongoers $50 to $500 per ticket on top of their admission. The William Shatner Adam West appearance happened on the main stage and pulled hundreds of fans.

Shatner and West only appeared once together before in the 1968 TV pilot for "Alexander the Great." William Shatner played Alexander the Great and Adam West played General Cleander. The pilot was never picked up, but that freed Shatner to make "Star Trek," and Adam West to put on Batman’s Cape. Shatner said “Alexander the Great” was "filled with half-naked men and half-naked ladies — at that time, it was considered very racy."

William Shatner said that was the first time get to to ride a horse. Horse riding is now Shatner’s biggest hobby.

William Shatner has been playing with his Captain Kirk character for years. He defends it and protects it, but also freely makes fun of it. William Shatner made a rare appearance as Captain Kirk on this year’s Academy Awards, trying to save Seth Macfarlane. Shatner also poked fun of his image in his one-man show “Shatner's World: We Just Live In It” on Broadway.

Adam West is also no stranger to Seth Macfarlane, appearing semi-regularly on “Family Guy” as none other than Adam West.

William Shatner is 82 and Adam West is 84. West said "The two icons each have bad hips. But look at us, we’re still perfect."

William Shatner has been in show business for over 60 years. His first film was "The Butler’s Night Off."

Adam West Said "I have always the same doubts, the same fears, the same nervousness if you will, the same lack of confidence in what I may do next may not be good enough. "I think that is very important to an actor."

Comic Book guru Stan Lee, the original Robin Burt Ward and the only Fonzie, Henry Winkler will also be appearing at the convention this weekend to sign autographs.
