Sir Patrick Stewart a.k.a. Professor X and Captain Jean-Luc Piccard had announced in Twitter, "Yes, married."

He even attached a photo of himself and his bride, happily submerged in a pool of colored plastic balls!

The 73-year old British actor married 35-year old Sunny Ozell, a jazz singer and song writer who, it is said, Stewart met at the Brooklyn Academy of Music while performing Macbeth. They began dating in 2007 or 2008 and got engaged in March this year.

It was the same month that Stewart's good friend Sir Ian McKellen, also known as Magneto and Gandalf the Grey (or White), had made a surprise announcement in British television at the Johnathan Ross Show, saying, "I am going to marry Patrick."

He, of course, clarified the statement, explaining that he was going to officiate the wedding; although he did not give details at the time.

It seems that McKellan made good his word. He posted a photo of himself in Facebook showing a black shirt that says "minister" and a certificate that says, "Doctor of Divinity."

The caption says, "I did my part." 

This is the third time Sir Patrick had exchanged I-do's. His first marriage was with Sheila Falconer which lasted for 24 years, from 1966 to 2000. They have a son, Daniel, and a daughter, Sophia.

He then married Wendy Neuss in 2000 and they divorced in 2003. Aside from being a high-profile and multi-awarded movie and TV actor, Stewart is also a voice and stage actor.

He has lent his voice to numerous projects, including the animated film "Prince of Egypt" and the audio recording of C.S. Lewis' "The Last Battle (The Chronicles of Narnia); and has appeared in over 60 productions with the Royal Shakespeare Company.

He was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire, and was made a Knight Bachelor for his services to drama. Fans and followers of the veteran actor can expect him to reprise his role as Professor Charles Xavier in the 2014 movie "X-Men: Days of Future Past."
