GTA 5 PC Release Date News: ‘State Of Decay’ Computer Release Prompts Rockstar To Develop PC Version Of Grand Theft Auto 5?

The second fastest-selling download in the Xbox 360's history, open world zombie survival title "State of Decay" will be on PC in just "a few weeks," HindustanTimes.com reports, leaving computer gamers wondering if it will prompt Rockstar Games to follow suit with Grand Theft Auto 5.

"State of Decay" cleared 250,000 sales within its first 48 hours, following a June 5 release on Xbox Live, placing it second only to "Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition," HindustanTimes.com also reports.

NVIDIA has mentioned that Grand Theft Auto 5 will have a likely end-of-the-year or fall release date for its PC version, but the company has retracted their original claim.

"Please note, during our Thursday's earnings call, our investor relations team provided a list of important games that gamers are looking forward to on PC this fall, and included Grand Theft Auto V on that list," a statement released by the company read, according to Forbes.com.

"This statement was made with the intent of expressing enthusiasm for the games industry in general, and was not intended to represent specific knowledge possessed by NVIDIA. NVIDIA does not have information on any possible PC version release of Grand Theft Auto or its availability. We deeply regret the error."

But Rockstar Games has released gameplay graphics for its next-generation console versions, leaving gamers wondering if the computer version will have optimized visuals.

"We got to see the gameplay graphics for GTA 5 on the PC, but what people have been asking is what it could be like on the PC, which typically has graphics that look better than on the consoles," Tekrieg.com writes.

"If the game arrives for the PC people will begin to talk about what specs the PC needs to run it on maximum setting."
