Sherlock Actress Lara Pulver Teases Irene Adler Season 3 Return As Fans Clamor For Series Air Date On Twitter

"Sherlock" season 3 has just wrapped filming, yet one actress who remains unseen and unconfirmed for this series is Lara Pulver, who plays the iconic Irene Adler on the BBC series.

With a cast of returning characters like Lestrade, Mrs. Hudson, Mycroft, and Molly Hooper, it is surprising that such an iconic and popular character has not been seen during filming for any of the season 3 episodes.

"She's definitely not dead, which is always a good start," says Lara Pulver regarding Irene Adler on "Sherlock."

"I think there are some other integral key characters they want to introduce into Season 3, which is kind of going to be their focus, and some new stories to tell."

But now, a new quote from Radio Times alludes to the fact that the character may make an appearance on "Sherlock" season 3, despite having not been spotted during any filming sessions.

"I don't think I said you wouldn't be seeing me. I said there are other key characters they're introducing."

Despite the scintillating tease, the likelihood of Irene Adler being heavily featured in "Sherlock" season 3 is clearly slim. More than likely, a cameo could have been filmed at some point, especially if Adler is being targeted by the new villain of season 3: Charles Augustus Magnussen.

"The only adversary we have announced for series three is Charles Augustus Magnussen portrayed by Lars Mikkelsen. We won't be making any more announcements on casting as we want to ensure we keep the third series a surprise for fans," says an official spokesperson from BBC.

Could Irene Adler be a target of Magnussen, who is known as the "king of blackmailers?"

And while fans continue to theorize, "Sherlock" season 3 has yet to announce an air date, and Twitter has become the cemetery for the unanswered cries from fans.
