Yale Squirrel Massacre: University Hunted Down Squirrels In Summer Rampage, Students Protest

Yale University has a war on squirrels, apparently.

The university is accused of hunting down and murdering every single squirrel on the campus over the summer.

One Yale University student, who wanted to remain anonymous, sent Gawker an email about the squirrel massacre.

The student said, I'd like to remain anonymous, but I also want to let you know about something going on at Yale. It appears that the administration paid to have all the squirrels on campus killed over the summer.

"There are no squirrels left at Yale," the student added.

And apparently, authorities at Yale are trying to keep the case quiet, despite numerious student protests.

"As students have begun to realize the genocide that has taken place, they are rising up, enraged and disgusted. Numerous student publications are racing to uncover the scandal, but so far there has been no official statement. Continued fury and uprising is expected."

Yale has not yet officially responded to the accusations they hired bounty hunters to kill the squirrels, but both Yale's Facilities staff and New Haven's Parks Department, denied a knowledge of a squirrel genocide over the summer.

One commentor said that it's doubtful Yale has the money for such a project-after all, Grounds and maintenance funds are always the most directly slashed during an economic downturn,"

Others argued that Yale is, after all, an Ivy League school-and known to have deep pockets. But they still may not choose to spend their cash on squirrel hunting."Even if Yale does have a larger budget per square acre it's incredibly unlikely that squirrel genocide would be thought of as good use of the budget," they said.

What do you think? Did Yale ruthlessly hunt down the squirrels, then cover it up? Sound off in the comments below!
